Pictures can speak a thousand words… #Advent season is here!
And although a trip to Philly, the chicken + dumplings, Christmas tree decorating, and cookie baking were all SOMETHING GOOD, we (and you) have a wonderful opportunity to partake in SOMETHING BETTER.
The reality of Jesus, God with us, never gets old. His birth still means something TODAY. As the people of biblical times awaited SOMETHING GOOD in the arrival of a Savior, their hope was not in things or quick-fix experiences. Their hope was not in the government or a breakthrough in the economy. But people like the shepherds in the field (Luke 2: 8 – 18), Simeon (Luke 2: 25 -35), and Anna the prophetess (Luke 2: 36 – 38) knew that SOMETHING SPECIAL had arrived.
In 2020, we too have SOMETHING SPECIAL to hope in – even when everything around us seems like it’s in crisis mode.
This holiday season, won’t you join me in fixing our hearts on the truth of God and the gift that He offers through His Son Jesus?
Isaiah 9:6 (ESV): For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
